The centre of Camborne has been closed off by police following a double stabbing.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, were injured during the early hours of this morning, after they tried to stop two teenagers from damaging a vehicle.

A police incident manager said: "Two youths were seen damaging a vehicle. Two members of the public have approached them and remonstrated with them, and have been stabbed for their troubles."

One man was stabbed in the ear and the other in the buttock.

Neither injury is believed to be life threatening or life changing.

The attack took place at 1.26am this morning.

The force incident manager said both suspects were described as being around 16 years old and both male.

One was around 5ft 5in tall, wearing a black Adidas top with a red and white stripe to the white shoulder, paired with black trousers.

The second was around 5ft 4in tall, wearing a grey hooded top and black jogging bottoms.

Trelowarren Street has now reopened, after being closed from Commercial Street to Centenary Street until mid morning, for police continue to carry out investigations at the scene.
