Fire broke out in the bedroom of a cottage in Porthleven this lunchtime.
Firefighters from Helston, Penzance and Tolvaddon were all scrambled at 1.30pm.
Crews found a bedroom on fire and were forced to wear special breathing equipment while they entered the house and put out the flames with a hose reel.
Firefighters also checked the adjoining property to make sure the fire had not spread, using a thermal imaging camera and ladder.
A fire service spokesperson said one crew from Helston has stayed at the scene, to monitor for any hot spots.
The fire is understood to have been in Peverell Terrace.
