A property firm with offices in Falmouth is preparing to expand after a change in management.

RTP Surveyors has offices in Falmouth and Bodmin and is the company behind the conversion of Falmouth’s historic Working Men’s Club to Beerwolf Bookshop and Bar as well as a complete design and build of the luxury holiday homes on the site of the Budock Vean hotel.

Founder Richard Thomas is now handing over the managerial reins to colleagues as he takes up a consultancy role ahead of new offices opening in Plymouth.

RTP director John Darbyshire said: “Richard is a brilliant leader, surveyor and designer and clients love working with him – so we don’t want him to do anything rash like retiring.

"As a consultant he will continue his project work while we make sure that RTP continues to thrive and grow.”

Richard Thomas, who established the company over 30 years ago, has said: “Every project is different and interesting in its way and whatever its size each project is equally important to the client behind it.”

Referring to the recent management buyout, he added: “Being able to hand over the practice to an established team ensures seamless regeneration, and I am really pleased that there is such a dedicated and expertly qualified team of directors able to move the practice forward onto bigger and better things.”

The company’s restructuring marks the start of exciting times as the company have already expanded, with a new office in Plymouth city centre.

The company whose Falmouth office opened in 1998 now employs over 20 people across Cornwall and has recently had a website redesign by the Falmouth based Sames & Littlejohns.
