THE ill-fated Russian bulkcarrier Kuzma Minin which grounded on Gyllyngvase beach last December has changed owners and names.
Renamed Energy Annabelle, her new port of registry is Alofi, Niue.
The south Pacific island country of Niue is one of the largest coral islands in the world and lies 2,400 kilometres north east of New Zealand.
Currently detained by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for having a large number of defects, the bulk carrier remains moored to the casualty reception buoy in the Cross Channel at Falmouth.
The future of the ship is unknown at the present time.
Tugs and workboats under the direction of Falmouth pilot Tristan Gurd succeeded in freeing the vessel from the rocks.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency then detained the ship for having many defects.
In the River Fal the bulkcarrier Alcyon, which is under arrest by the Admiralty Marshall, is up for sale through London brokers Kelloch and Co.
The vessel is to be sold by sealed tender, as is where is at the time of sale, on the Admiralty Marshal’s Conditions of Sale.
Offers have to be in by June 18.
