The fashion line-up for next month’s Port Eliot Festival is looking absolutely fabulous darling with Jeremy Deller, Alice Temperley, Preen and Zandra Rhodes all confirmed to dazzle, writes Paul Armstrong.

The festival, which takes place on the gorgeous Port Eliot Estate near Saltash from July 25-28, also features Dave Hill on Slade style with Caroline Catz, Star Wars costume designer Glyn Dillon making Boba Fett helmets and BAFTA award-winning actress Jessica Hynes with Culture Device ft Drag Syndrome.

While people of style are to be found all over Port Eliot Festival, the centre for fashion is the Fashion Foundation, where you will be guaranteed an audience with – and the chance to work alongside – some of the most influential figures in fashion and art.

Taking over Port Eliot’s beautiful Orangery and headed by fashion writer and curator, NJ Stevenson, the Fashion Foundation explores and predicts future fashion styles, trends and approaches, while celebrating the great figures, movements and creations of the past.

Jeremy Deller is in conversation with journalist and Port Eliot fave Miranda Sawyer.

Dame Zandra Rhodes will be coming to Cornwall to share her 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Slade lead guitarist and glam peacock Dave Hill will be in discussion with actress and superfan Caroline Catz about the style of Slade, stack heels, jump suits, space-age shoulder pads and making costumes with spray paint for Top of the Pops.

Artist and Star Wars costume designer, Glyn Dillon, will invite the Port Eliot audience to join him in designing and painting miniature model replica Mandalorian (Boba Fett) helmets.

BAFTA award-winner Jessica Hynes will be chatting to artistic producers Culture Device about creating cultural spaces for artists with Down’s Syndrome (DS), the Radical Beauty project and how Drag Syndrome, presenting performances by drag queens and kings with DS, is taking the scene by storm
