Mabe's continental counterparts paid a visit to the village last week when members of the twinning association from Primelin, Brittany travelled to Cornwall.
The visitors and hosts met up at Harbour Lights for fish and chips before enjoying Breton dancing at The Front.
They visited attractions such as the Screech Owl Sanctuary near St Columb and Falmouth's Lifeboat Station.
Many of the group were amateur sailors and members of the SNSM, the French lifesaving organisation, and were fascinated by the comparison with Falmouth's lifeboat facilities.
They spent an evening at Country Skittles, dining and playing games, and also visited Flora Day (which members of the French organisation had wanted to visit for some time).
The group welcomes new members, and anyone interested in joining the Mabe Twinning Association can contact Denise at denisedavey@tiscali.co.uk.
