One of the world's leading solo performers in renaissance and baroque lute music will begin a season of concert performances around Europe near Falmouth next weekend.
Truro-based Ben Salfield will give a recital in Mabe Church on Sunday, May 19 at 7.30pm.
He will follow this with appearances at summer festivals in Austria and Italy, including a short visit to Sardinia.
Ben's programme features music covering 250 years, taking listeners on a journey from the earliest published lute music in 1508 up to the death of JS Bach in 1750.
He said: "It's great to be able to start my touring season at home in Cornwall. I'm celebrating 30 years of concert performances and Mabe Church is a gorgeous place to play music.
“I hope to see old and new friends at the recital, and it'd be nice to make a bit of money for the church funds too."
Tickets for the concert are available priced at £10, or £5 for children £5, from kernowconcerts.co.uk.
