THE Cornwall Garden Society’s March Lectures will be delivered by woodland garden specialist, Kenneth Cox, drawing the 2018/2019 lecture series to a close.

With two of his 11 books having been garlanded by the Garden Media Guild as UK Gardening Book of the Year, he is also Scotland’s bestselling garden writer.

Kenneth is also a third generation woodland gardener and managing director of the family firm, Glendoick Gardens in Scotland, which specialises in rhododendrons, azaleas and ericaceous plants.

Born into a family of renowned plantsmen and world-leading rhododendron experts, Kenneth is the grandson of plant hunter, writer and nurseryman, Euan Cox and the son of Peter Cox, a recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Victoria Medal of Honour.

Kenneth has also carved out a particular niche in the world of plant hunting having led nine expeditions to south and south-east Tibet, and Arunachal Pradesh in India. He also designs and advises on the restoration of woodland gardens in the UK and further afield.

The Woodland Garden will be his subject on Tuesday, March 12, at 7.30pm at The Alverton in Truro, whilst Woodland Gardening will be his focus on Wednesday, March 13, at 2pm at the St Mellion International Resort in Saltash.

These lectures are free for CGS members. Non-members are welcome to attend to find out more about the Society and donations are gratefully received.

A local nursery will be on hand to tempt attendees with high quality plants for sale.
