Truro’s £5 Super Saver Monday scheme

The scheme, which launched with nine participants last March, has 33 different £5 offers across 25 different Truro businesses and will start on Monday.

Originally founded by the Plaza Cinema and now supported by Truro BID, it is designed to liven-up Mondays in the city with a variety of special £5 deals.

Alun Jones, Truro BID Manager said: “We were keen to boost the number of Super Saver Monday offers to entice more people to our great little city at the start of the week and to help increase trade.

"We’re thrilled to have new businesses on board offering more treats with some businesses offering more than one deal. There’s also a selection of new offers from some of the businesses that were already taking part – including more hot food and drinks to coincide with winter.

"The number of Super Saver Monday deals available means people can now choose from a variety of £5 offers for any time of day – whether it’s food or drink with friends, time with the whole family, a lunchtime take-away or money off a purchase or service.”

The 33 deals from the 25 businesses taking part are:

• Plaza - All cinema tickets £5

• Vertigo – Two offers: Super Saver Mexican Monday Nachos for £5 or a Tequila Margherita for £5

• Hubbox - Get the ‘All Star’ burger for £5 or Fakin Bacon burger (vegan/veggie option) for £5

• Rieker Shoes - £5 off any full price item, shoe, sandal, handbag

• Zafiros – Expresso Martini Mondays – Expresso Martini for £5

• Sam’s in the City - Choose from 3 options: Fish Soup served with bread, or chilli nachos, or a falafel board for £5.

• Sole Plaice - A Fish (pollock) and Chip Meal for £5 in the restaurant or takeaway. Offer available all day (Mondays)

• Save the Children - £5 off when you spend £20

• The Old Grammar School - selected cocktails after 5pm for £5

• The Cornish Food Box - take away Super Saver Monday Lunch Option for £5

• The Old Cheese Shop – fresh soup served with focaccia and hot drink for £5.

• Blend 71 - selected lunch deals for £5

• Merchant House - coffee & cake for £5 between 12-6pm

• Xen Noodle Bar – selected rice or noodle dishes for only £5.

• KC’s Bar and Grill – any large milkshakes for £5

• Prime – two offers:

Bring a friend & have two large milkshakes or extreme hot chocolates for £5.

Get £5 worth of preloaded Pacman Arcade credits with any coffee shop purchase or hair service.

• Fish ‘N Go – get small cod and regular hand cut chips for just £5

• Oggy Oggy – Three offers:

Two medium Steak/flavoured pasties for £5 all day (take away).

Eat in and get a medium steak pasty and a pot of tea for £5.

Two cream teas for £5 when you eat-in between 2pm – 5pm.

• Dinosaurs and Daffodils - £5 off when spending £40 or more.

• Comfort Zone - £5 off when spending £20 or more in the salon.

• Doughnut Addict - two speciality coffees for £5.

• Karen’s Café - sandwich, drink and a packet of crisps meal deal for £5 (eat in or takeaway)

• Martin’s Bakery, Pannier Market - two medium Cornish steak pasties for £5.

• Grounded - selected soup and a drink for £5 or selected sandwich and a drink for £5

• The Smoking Longhorn (van located on Pydar St) – fully loaded dog for £5
