AN Internationally renowned beachcomber and documentary film maker will be delivering an informative evening on the global issue of plastic pollution in Falmouth.
The event includes a showing of Jane Darke's film The Wrecking Season, followed by a talk on plastic pollution from the film maker.
Organised by Marine Science students from Falmouth Marine School, the event forms part of their Personal Employability Skills Development Module.
“We wanted to host an event that we are passionate about,” said student Liese Shepperd.
“The Wrecking Season is such a powerful film, we hope it will help to educate and inspire the community.”
To be held at The Poly in Falmouth on Monday, February 25, (5-7pm), tickets are available on the door at a cost of £5.
The Wrecking Season is essential for anyone who wants to understand the Gulf Stream and what it brings across the Atlantic from the Americas. It is an expression of Cornwall’s place in the Atlantic community.
The film, first broadcast in 2005 on BBC4 and winner of First Time Director Award at the Celtic Film and TV Festival, is and filmed and directed by Jane and written and narrated by her late husband Nick Darke who died in 2005.
