Dear Editor
It was such a shame not to see the beautiful Christmas lights that have become a tradition outside Dave and Anne Addinall's house in Falmouth’s Fenwick Road.
Not only is this usually a sight to behold but it raises a significant amount of money for charity.
This year’s notable absence is doubtless a result of the charity box being stolen last Christmas.
I’m sure I speak on behalf of most of Falmouth when I urge the Addinalls to reinstate this spectacle for Christmas 2019, and put our faith in human kindness overcoming whatever drove the actions of the thief (or thieves) last year.
I’m sure good will triumph, and here’s hoping the miscreants remain remorseful and have learnt a valuable lesson.
After all, why should both charity and the community miss out because of the actions of one or two misguided people?
A happy and healthy 2019 to all!
Nicola Smith
