A Truro man was fined £900 for failing to give information about a driver who allegedly committed an offence.

Sheikh Sajid Ahmad, 57, of Landerslee Drive, Truro, was asked to provide information to help police in Plymouth to identify the driver of a BMW X6 on January 3.

He failed to do so, and after pleading guilty was fined £900, ordered to pay £200 court costs, and a victim surcharge of £90.

Alexander William Elliott, 25, of West End Court in Redruth was drunk and disorderly in Commercial Square, Camborne on June 27.

He was charged for resisting a police officer, drunk and disorderly behaviour, and crude and abusive comments in Camborne Police Station. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Dean Paul Collins, 24, of Borlase Close in Helston damaged a child's play table and a door worth £20 on July 15.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Owen Stamp, 27, of Trevannon Lodge in St Austell was drunk and disorderly in Falmouth on May 26.

He assaulted a woman by beating her and damaged the door of a fridge/freezer worth £50.

He pleaded guilty and was given a restraining order, and ordered to pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £20, and £85 court costs.

Ross Stephen Dansie, 24, of North Roskear in Camborne, stole two boxes of Corona beer worth £26 from Tesco on July 18.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to do 20 hours of unpaid work and pay compensation of £49, a victim surcharge of £85, and court costs of £85.

Barry John Burton drove with no insurance and MoT in Redruth and has been fined as a result.

The 45 year old, from Primitive Hill, Tuckingmill, admitted the offences, which took place on May 25 on the Avers roundabout.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 and £30 victim surcharge.

A Truro driver who failed to stop at a red light was also found to be driving without insurance.

Keian Mark Patterson, aged 22, of Tregothnan Road, Malpas, admitted the offences which took place on May 12 in Tregolls Road.

He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Matthew Joseph Taylor, aged 21, drove without insurance on two separate occasions within the space of a week.

Taylor, of Treloweth Close, St Erth, committed the offences on March 17 and March 23. He was disqualified from driving for nine months and fined £660. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

Gareth Wayne Jenkin, 36, of Arundel Way, stole a Fiat 500l and drove it without a valid licence or insurance.

He admitted the offence, which took place in Redruth on June 29, and was given a 12 week curfew between the hours of 8pm and 7am.

He was also ordered to undertake a thinking skills programme, pay a victim surcharge of £85, and court costs of £85.

Nevil Jean Whitelock, 53, of Crowan, drove under the influence of alcohol.

A sample of his breath at the time showed that he had 123 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 80 microgrammes per 100 millilitres.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was given a 25 week curfew between the hours of 8pm and 7am. He was also disqualified from driving for 29 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and court costs of £85.
