Wellington looks "almost certain" to miss out on Taunton livestock market in favour of the £5 million development near Bridgwater.

Town and county councillors Andrew Govier and Ross Henley asked about the progress of the market relocation at Taunton Deane Council meeting on Tuesday.

Although a decision is not likely to be made until March, Mr Govier said it looks pretty unlikely Wellington will be chosen. He said: "It seems almost certain that the market isn't going to come to Wellington. The clear message we got was that although no final decision has been made, it seems to be very likely that the market will relocate to Bridgwater."
