Yeovil Town manager Steve Thompson has confirmed that the Glovers failed in a bid to lure Charlton's Kevin Lisbie to Huish Park .
But he still hopes to sign a Premiership striker on loan this week to boost his goalshy side, who have scored only one goal in their last four games.
Lisbie is expected join Championship side Derby County. Thompson hopes to complete another deal prior to Saturday's crucial away game against Blackpool.
Thompson said he had been in talks with a young striker from a Premiership club.
The player was only 18 and could prove something of a gamble but he could be a useful addition to the squad, he added.
Meanwhile, Yeovil skipper Terry Skiverton has returned to training after a groin operation.
The double hernia victim completed a session with the other players with no ill effects.
However, Skiverton is unlikely to return to the side against Blackpool.
His return has been pencilled in for the match at Chesterfield on March 4.
