SOMERSET captain Ian Blackwell is confident of securing a place in England's side for the first Test against India which gets underway in Nagpur next Wednesday (March 1).

With first choice spinner Ashley Giles unfit, Somerset's captain now looks the favourite to fill the vacancy.
