OAKE and Bradford Community Primary School and Nynehead Primary School are to be run by one governing body to secure their future in the villages.
Both schools have been hit by falling numbers and, to prevent one or both from closing in the future, Somerset County Council has backed their decision to 'federate'.
This move will mean that the schools can work even more closely together, share resources and teaching expertise as well as ensuring the schools remain at the heart of both communities.
