Gloucestershire 1 Cornwall 1 - CORNWALL and Gloucestershire finished all square at 1-1 in their South West Counties Youth Championship match at Bristol Manor Farm.
Cornwall took the lead in unexpected fashion after 15 minutes when the Gloucestershire goalkeeper Russell Holt (Bitton) inexplicably dropped a collected corner at the feet of Matthew Lindsay (Newquay), who tapped in his fourth goal in four games for his county.
The remainder of the half saw Gloucestershire putting real pressure on Cornwall which held firm with goalkeeper Steve Raven outstanding.
The second half continued in the same manner with Cornwall only occasionally putting the Gloucestershire defence under pressure.
The home side eventually equalised in the 70th minute, Tom Hardwick finishing off a fine move. Both sides sworked hard for the elusive winning goal, but with both defences having total domination, the match ended with honours even.
