LOVE is in the air for the common toad who - with the help of the toad road patrol volunteers - will soon be safely negotiating a busy road to its mating ground.
THE toads will cross to its mating ground at Hawkridge Reservoir, near Spaxton, between February and march, which is the toads annual spring migration when thousands will hop across the highway in the persuit of passion.
However, without the help of volunteers many will be killed by motorists.
