ILMINSTER Youth Football club are being considered for a national honour after winning three prestiguous regional awards at a recent FA presentation in Street.
The club won an award for being the first FA Charter Development club in the South-West, while Under-14s manager Keith May won the Regional Charter Coach Award for 2002, and chairman Ian 'Ollie' Brister won an award for his outstanding achievements and contribution to football.
Kevin Hodges, football development officer for Somerset, praised the club and their two award winners at the presentation.
"I have been veryimpressed with Keith's coaching. He has time and patience with the children he works with and a good knowledge of the game," he said.
