REGENERATION bosses in Chard are hoping for a boost this month as the South West Regional Development Agency prepares to announce whether the town has been allowed to join the Market and Coastal Towns funding initiative.
The TAPP regeneration group has been promised a response by the end of September after submitting its bid in December.
A delegation is to meet representatives of SWRDA next Tuesday when they may receive an update on the bid.
A positive result would enable Chard to create an action plan to eventually take to a bidding table and hopefully lever out large amounts of funding for local projects.
