THE seven-year-old son of FAST Appeal supporters - Adrian and Penny Tavener - has raised £60 in aid of the appeal after completing a sponsored walk from Yeovil to Ham Hill.
Jack Tavener said: "My mum and dad have been raising some money for the scanner so that when dad goes they are able to scan him at Yeovil Hospital instead of having to go to other places. It is important my dad has regular scans as he has osteoporosis."
Jack was going to join his mum and workers from Screwfix Direct in Yeovil on the sponsored walk on Sunday - but unfortunately it was cancelled. But that did not put off Jack from putting his best foot forward in aid of the appeal.
"Mum and I decided to walk on our own and took one hour and 20 minutes to get to Ham Hill," he said. "I was very tired when we got there. But I was very pleased when we finished and dad was there to buy us an ice cream!"
