Yeovil Town boss Gary Johnson has said that broken leg victim Adam Stansfield is 'keeping the faith' as he continues his long path back to recovery (writes Steve Sowden).

While Yeovil have enjoyed a five-game winning run and are on a roll, it would be quite easy for Stansfield -- one of the hottest properties outside of the Football League -- to become the forgotten man of Huish Park.

But Johnson said: "We certainly haven't forgotten about him -- we are a professional club.

"We ring him up every other day, and he is keeping involved by popping down to the club and watching a few of our games."

Stansfield broke his leg in two places on the opening day of the season against Gravesend and Northfleet on August 17 at the Avenue Stadium in Dorchester. And now it is not expected that he will reappear for playing duty until the latter stages of this season.

Johnson said: "Adam's keeping the faith and looking after himself. But we are trying to wrap him up in cotton wool because he has got to be careful at the moment.

"The bones are gelling together at the moment and the slightest knock on his toe could put him back."

But while Stansfield sits on the sidelines, Johnson and his side are preparing for Saturday's visit to Stevenage Borough -- the team they beat in the FA Umbro Trophy Final on May 12.

Johnson said: "Stevenage will be out for the revenge, but we will be ready for them and we'll be looking to extend our winning run.

"The boys are up for the game and are confident."

Defender Anthony Tonkin could be in the squad following a back injury.
