Somerset Rebel's speedway fans will see a different-looking Oak Tree Arena when they attend press and practice day on Friday (supporters welcome from 5pm).
New chief Peter Toogood, anxious to avoid the planning problems that plagued co-promoter Andy Hewlett last season, has had the referee's box and clubhouse buildings painted brown instead of white, at the suggestion of planners.
"They said that it would make them blend in better with the rural landscape and around the Oak Tree Arena," said Toogood, who has had two meetings with planners, councillors and local people.
