THE importance of getting your eyes tested at a young age is being highlighted by Specsavers Opticians in Yeovil.

Specsavers are urging parents and teachers to keep a close eye on children's sight in a bid to improve poor literacy levels across the UK as part of their Get Kids Reading campaign.

The call coincides with Thursday's (March 4) World Book Day and highlights the impact poor vision can have on a child's ability to learn to read, write and spell.
