FOLLOWING his impressive performance against former world champion Matthew Stevens in the UK Masters, Andy Hicks has followed that with another solid performance to qualify for the UK Championships.

The Bells Court resident professional travelled to Prestatyn in Wales where he first beat Joe Jogia 9-7 and followed that with a superb 9-7 victory over Dave Harold.

The resurgence in Hicks' career has seen him take on and beat some of the best players in the world and he is now regularly performing at the highest level.

That can be best illustrated by the fact that an exhibition at Camelford Snooker Club at the weekend, Andy made an incredible 11 100-plus breaks and a maximum 147 in his 17 frames.

"Andy has been doing that sort of thing for some time now," said Bells Court Snooker boss Paul Williams. "But now he is taking the form on the practice table into the matches and he is playing really well and getting some big results."

With the snooker season now under way, anyone wishing to take up - or improve - the game is welcome to visit Bells Court and contact Mr Williams.
