SOMERSET had a lucky escape from the high storms and winds which hit the South-West this week.
While dozens of buildings were flooded and transport services disrupted in coastal areas in Devon and Cornwall, Somerset remained largely untouched with no reports of flooding or weather damage.
The weather conditions for the weekend look to be improving, with an expected mixture of sun and clouds on Saturday and Sunday, although more rain is expected on Monday.
