A PIG race held at Holywell Lake Inn, near Wellington, raised over £1,000 for Rockwell Green primary school.
The event was organised by former pupil Hannah Alderman as part of Make a Difference Day.
Hannah said: "The event went really well and we raised £541, which will be matched by employer Barclays Bank.
"We had six races in total where people could bid on the pig they thought would win and then we auctioned them off at the end.
"Once we take off a few costs, the school should get around £1,000."
The money will help pay for a new reading scheme for the school.
