EVERY season without fail the same story is written and this season is no exeption as yet another giantkilling act is performed in the Whirlwind Sports Falmouth-Helston League's Percy Stephens Cup.

Carharrack, plying their trade in division three, defeated unbeaten division one side Chacewater 3-1. No, it's not a misprint and it needs no more than that sentence for soccer followers and players to draw breath and try and take it all in.

However, that is a fact and Carharrack have performed the biggest upset of the season in the western half of the county.

Manager Terry Dyer told his side to compete throughout and that way they would be able to perform a damage limitation exercise, little realising that his side, second from bottom in division three, would perform one of the competition's biggest-ever upsets.

Chacewater had the better of the first half with one real good chance just before half-time, but in the second half two goals in a minute had the favourites rocking on their heels.
