TRURO College has submitted a major planning application for a landmark building which will enable practically double the current number of higher and further education students to study there.

Planning proposals have been lodged to build the facility on the A390 western approach to Truro City centre on land between Truro College and the new Richard Lander School.

The Fal Building will be a prestigious addition to the purpose-built campus for Truro College and will include teaching accommodation, catering, learning resources and student facilities.

The building will extend provision for the growing number of higher education students and provide a focal point for existing university level students as part of the commitment to the Combined Universities in Cornwall phase two project.

The college already has 536 HE students, and the proposed project will enable an additional 411 full-time student places to be created.
