A PACKED Truro Methodist Church was wowed by the 100-strong Morriston Orpheus Choir at a concert in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief Cornwall.

The choir, who are a supernova in the Male Voice Choir firmament, did not disappoint the enthusiastic and knowledgeable audience.

They were brilliantly supported by Cornwall's "rising star" choir, City of Truro Male Choir.

Together and separately, the choirs brought the audience to its feet on several occasions.

Compred by Alwyn Humpreys, the highly entertaining musical Director of Morriston, interspersed with a good deal of light-hearted Cornish/Welsh Celtic banter, the concert kept the house on the edge of its seats.

In addition, the dazzling keyboard skills of soloist Alistair Taylor, on both piano and organ, provided a further dimension to this already stunning evening. An ebullient Paul Triggs, musical director of City of Truro Male Choir, reports that he has been inundated by messages of congratulation from visiting aficionados from around the country.
