LAUNCESTON 0 PORTHLEVEN 7

SEVEN might be a lucky number for some, but for Porthleven it is becoming distinctly unlucky after they crashed to their second successive 7-0 thrashing.

On this occasion it came against former manager John Clarkson at Launceston in the Carlsberg SWL and conceding 14 goals in two games is a huge blow to the side's confidence.

As in the game at Newquay there was little to choose between the teams, but again in the second half a lack of concentration cost the Fishermen dear as they conceded three goals in eight minutes to hand the initiative to their opponents.

With new signing Nick Mayor showing up well at the back for Porthleven, they needed him to be at his best in partnership with Scott Clark as the Clarets made the early running.

Clark headed away a dangerous corner and Lee Doncaster shot wide after a good run on goal.

Ryan Holland saved Port when he managed to save with his feet under a threat from Ian Rowe, but Tilley should have done better when he flashed the ball over the bar from a cross by Shapland.

Porthleven had to work hard to create opportunities, but Adrian Hart got in a header from a cross by Dean Bray.
