THERE are rumours circulating that the Astroturf pitch at Huish Park - a much-valued community asset - could be removed.
The pitch is in desperate need of refurbishment after more than ten years of continual use.
There are now fears that the pitch may be done away with and replaced by extra car parking facilities - despite the fact that it is used most nights of the week for local matches and is a focus for children taking part in the club's soccer holiday schemes.
But club sources have told the Express that if the Astroturf did go from its present site in front of the Main Stand, a new facility would be created elsewhere within the Huish Park complex.
