It has been a week or so to forget for Helston Cricket Club. Following the disrupted start to the season due to the weather, and Flora Day, there was the first round defeat in this year's Warrens Vinter Cup at home to Troon.

Just as the weather improved worst was to follow, however. Last Thursday's Clive Rosevear Twenty/ 20 Centenary Handicap Cup game at Falmouth was conceded at short notice due to the unavailability of players.

Then on Saturday came the news that the club was unable to fulfil their Jolly's Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League game at Werrington.

For various reasons, including injuries, six first teamers were unavailable to travel to the north of the county.

In accordance with league rules the club also conceded the second XI game in division five at home to St Just Thirds and the third XI game at home to Chacewater Seconds in division seven.
