WELL known West Somerset businessman John Donner has died.
Mr Donner, 74, of Heddon Oak House, Crowcombe, was a director and shareholder in West Somerset Railway, and an avid collector of classic and vintage cars.
He and his wife were attacked with a toxic spray and robbed of items worth £70,000, including a pipe made for murdered tsar of Russia Nicholas II, while staying at a French hotel in October.
Speaking to the Somerset County Gazette after the attack, he said: "I was extraordinarily fit before this happened. "Now I continually fight for breath and I have lost balance and mobility as a result of irreversible damage to my nervous system."
