TAUNTON Deane Mayor Richard Lees, who has been blind since his teens, will be donning sunglasses to encourage people to look after their eyes.
Mr Lees is fronting this year's Guide Dogs' Shades Day campaign next Tuesday, when hundreds of people will be wearing dark glasses at work, school or in the pub.
Participants will be asked to make a donation to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, while at the same time raising awareness of eye health.
For a fundraising and information pack, or to learn more about eye health, visit www.shadesday.org.uk and register online or call 0845 606 6298.
