I AM writing concerning an incident that took place at the weekend recently.

I was leaving the retail park at Hankridge Farm, Taunton, by car after visiting PC World, and after passing the first roundabout I was in a queue of traffic in the left-hand lane, just approaching the second roundabout, when a woman driving in the right-hand lane decided to try to cut across my path in front of me, sounding her horn vehemently.

She was waving her arms about as if I had committed a crime when, in fact, if she had wanted to turn left and not head towards B&Q she should also have been travelling in the left-hand lane.

For her information the left-hand lane is for turning left, whereupon after the roundabout it then splits into two lanes so you filter into whichever lane you want to use.

If the woman concerned reads this she will know who she is, and that she could easily have caused an accident when she was clearly in the wrong.

But she was adamant, judging by her facial expression and hand waving, that she was right.

How come everyone else in that lane turned right?

I think drivers like her need to read up on the Highway Code before she causes an accident.
