AN Ilminster pub has applied for the right to sell alcohol until 1.30am.
Bell Inn landlord Stuart Hunt, of High Street, has applied for an extension of hours and a consultation period on the scheme ends on July 11.
Yesterday (Tuesday) landlady Margaret Hunt said that if successful, the licence would cover the pub on Friday and Saturday nights if the longer hours were needed for functions.
She said they were still deciding on whether the pub would stay open until 1.30am on Friday and Saturday on a regular basis.
She also said the licence would enable the pub to open until midnight on week nights.
