AS the sun rose on Falmouth last Friday the majestic Mir tall ship sailed in to the harbour for a weekend of activity.
Accompanying the Russian ship - one of the largest of its type in the world - was the tall ship Europa, from Holland, to take part in the Falmouth for Orders mini tall ships festival over the weekend.
From the moment they arrived, both ships were open for the public to hop onboard and discover what it was like to be on a traditional sailing ship.
Mike Rangecroft, Events Square manager, said: "It went swimmingly. We had a steady stream of visitors, both to the ships and to Events Square."
