SOUTH West chartered surveyor Justin Armstrong has been appointed chairman of a national and international organisation for under-35s.

Justin, a director of Truro-based Envoy Commercial Property Management, succeeds Philip Morris as chairman of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors matrics.

RICS matrics represents all members (nationally and internationally) under the age of 35 and all other newly qualified members.

It acts as a support and advice network, which brings together members at all stages of their career and organises a range of events and social activities.

As chairman Justin will also sit on other RICS committees including its International Governing Council and the Leadership Team (comprising the RICS president and vice presidents).

Justin gained an honours degree in valuation and estate management from the University of the West of England in Bristol before joining Vickery Holman in Truro. He is now a director of Envoy Commercial Property Management - a subsidiary of Vickery Holman.

He said: "I have been involved in RICS matrics at a local level for a number of years, starting as a member, but then progressing on to becoming a local group treasurer and chairman.

"It is an honour to be made Chairman of RICS matrics and I look forward to meeting members at the many events which we hold around the country."
