I READ with some amusement that our former MP Candy Atherton is "intent" on winning back her seat. This on the same day that it is reported in the press that Labour's Water Minister, Elliott Morley, has refused to back a plan that would see water bills cut across the South West.
Despite Labour's previous promise that they would tackle water bills, bills are set to rise by another 25%. This on top of what are already the highest water bills in the country. Labour are in government and have the power to stop the planned hike in water bills at a stroke. They have that power and yet refuse to act in the interests of local people. So who needs a Labour MP?
