WHAT a shame! Shame on Redruth that a town of its size hasn't got an Age Concern or an old folks centre. Terry Bishop, Sue Fowler and all the other helpers must be devastated, but I know they did their best to keep it open.
I know when I was in charge, many years ago at the old Age Concern centre, I had my reservations then about the promises made in regard to the new centre, and it seems those promises meant nothing and why should they when the infinity towards Redruth and its senior citizens wasn't there. Does anyone these days give a dam or really care?
The world's gone mad! Money mad! Look at Redruth RFC selling their heritage for the "Queen's Shilling." They're not the only ones - it's happening everywhere unfortunately and they call this progress!
Can I congratulate Jeanette Dickinson and her team; also all those involved with the CLIC auction at the PV on Sunday, June 12, which made over £5,000 for that charity.
Coun T J Bray (Independent) Kerrier district council, Redruth
