COUNTY bosses have moved quickly to scotch rumours that plans are at an advanced stage to clinch the sale of a key Minehead development site to B&Q.
Fears grew after it was revealed that Somerset County Council, which owns the site next to Minehead railway station, was anxious to plug a £40million hole in its budget.
But reports circulating in the town have been dismissed as 'murky ru-mours'.
LibDem county councillor Ian Gal-loway said he would be 'absolutely ashamed' if the site was sold without public consultation.
