Mike Jacka (six handicap) returned a fantastic nett 56 to win the Willy Bromley Trophy on Sunday morning. Ray Pearce (11) took second with nett 59, while Ray Crebo (19) was third with nett 60. Derek Murrish (21) took fourth place on the last nine holes from Mark Prisk (11) with both players carding nett 61.

There was a full field for the ladies invitation day on Saturday afternoon. Norma May and Roseta Simmons were first with 35 points, winning on the last nine holes from Lou Archer and Helen Carson, who took second place on the last six holes from Rosalind Kamping and Margaret Richardson. Diana Kelynack and Eileen Tomlinson won the best front nine prize, and Elizabeth Murrish and Margaret Jones the best back nine prize.

Friday's "fun golf" this week was won by Colin Cratchley, Mike Hichens and Roy Hillyar, with Ronnie Barr, Ray Crebo and Francis Vickerstaffe second.

The ladies Wednesday Stableford was won by Anna Harry with a super 22 points. Enid Ellis took second place on count-back from Irene Sollis, with both ladies carding 19 points. Enid also won the putting competition.

The "fun night" competitions continue on Friday evening. The ladies hold their Cornwall Air Ambulance charity competition on Saturday afternoon and the men play for the Phillips Trophy (a singles Stableford) on Sunday morning, also in aid of the Cornwall Air Ambulance. Any raffle prizes or donations for these events will be very welcome. Next Tuesday sees the veteran's trophy (a singles medal for all members over 50) take place; the ladies play their own Stableford on Wednesday morning and the Ogres meet in the afternoon.
