There has been an increase of 74 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly within the last 48 hours.

Yesterday saw a fault with the Public Health England website that meant local case figures could not be reported.

However, as of 4.04pm today there have now been a total of 1,265 positive test results recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly since the start of the pandemic - 74 more than on Wednesday.

It means the rate of transmission is slowly beginning to rise in the region, with 221.2 cases per 100,000 people now, although this is still low compared to many parts of the country.
