A three-vehicle crash on the A30 has beem causing problems on the roads into Truro this lunchtime.

The road was blocked heading in the westbound direction, resulting in long queues heading towards Chiverton Cross.

The collision, between a lorry and two cars, was between the A39 at Carland Cross and the junction with the B3285 at Zelah.

However, travel reports show there has been congestion as far as Truro and Goonhavern as traffic diverts around the delays.

There was also traffic queuing on the opposite side of the A30.

Diversions were put in place via the A39 Newquay Road through Truro, or alternatively via Summercourt, Quintrell Downs and Goonhavern heading towards Chiverton Cross to rejoin the A30.

However, police has now confirmed that the road reopened at 2.10pm.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called with a report of a three vehicle RTC between two lorries and a car at 11.50am this morning on the A30 near Carland Cross.

"The occupants of the car are believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated by ambulance crews.

"The westbound carriageway at Carland Cross closed until around 2.10pm while the vehicles were recovered."
