At least three people were involved in a crash on the outskirts of Penryn earlier today.

Emergency services were seen at the bottom of Treluswell this morning, following a collision.

A police spokesperson has now confirmed: "This was reported to us at 10.25am today, involving two cars on the B3292 at Penryn."

An ambulance was also called to the scene.

The police spokesperson added that it was believed at least three people were left as "walking wounded" as a result of the crash.

One man is reported to have suffered a leg injury.

It was a busy day for the local emergency services after firefighters were called to Penryn at lunchtime following reports of a dog in distress in the water.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said at 1.40pm that two water rescue vehicles were at the scene, along with an incident commander and a tactical advisor.

The RSPCA had also been contacted, along with the dog warden.
