A POPULAR Falmouth chippy has said it won't be reopening its restaurant when lockdown restrictions are eased this weekend.
Harbour Lights in Arwenack Street said that operating with a reduced number of tables and restrictions "just isn't what we're about".
It will continue to offer takeaway.
A spokesperson said that "after so much consideration" it would not be opening "for the foreseeable future, whilst the Covid-19 virus is still present in our society and there is a requirement for social distancing".
They added: "If we opened it would have to be with a vastly reduced number of tables, distancing, restrictions and a list of dos and don’ts that just isn’t what we are about.
"Sitting down to a plate of fish and chips at Harbour Lights should be a fun relaxing experience and is core to our mantra.
"So big apologises for this news, we promise however that we will be reviewing our decision on a weekly basis as situations change.
"The good news though is that our takeaway is there for you, fully open whether you want to order online for home delivery or click and collect or stroll in to pick up from our counter.
"Whichever option you go for, we guarantee you as always top notch Harbour Lights fish and chips.
"A big thank you for so loyally bearing with us during these challenging times."
