CORNWALL and the Isles of Scilly's coronavirus death toll continues to remain static.

Wednesday's NHS England figures confirmed that the number of deaths in hospitals remains at 90, where it has been since June 2.

The latest ONS figures, which are due to be updated, put deaths in all settings at 203, including hospitals, care homes and the wider community.

As of Tuesday night there had been 595 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cornwall, up by just one on a week previous.

Across England, a further 50 people who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,759.

Patients were aged between 52 and 97 years old. Two patients, aged 52 and 63, had no known underlying health conditions, NHS England said.

Their families have been informed.

There were no new deaths registered in the south west as a whole.
