A BUS service operating in the Taunton area is having to divert from its usual route - due to "low hanging trees".

A Buses of Somerset spokesman said the 21A will avoid Farriers Green from today and until further notice.

As a result, a number of stops will not be in use - they are Hartnells Farm, Merry Monk/Thornash Close and Farriers Green.

The spokesman said: "Due to low hanging trees and the re-introduction of double decker buses, service 21A will have to divert away from Farriers Green.

"This diversion is necessary to avoid incidents involving trees and windows.

"From the Bridgwater direction, after servicing Monkton Elm Garden Centre Service 21A will travel along Bawler Road and join the 21 Route to Bathpool Aldi.

"From Taunton buses will follow the 21 route before travelling along Bawler Rd to the Garden Centre.

"Regrettably we will not be able to serve stops are Hartnells Farm, Merry Monk/Thornash Close, or Farriers Green. These stops are alternatively covered by Somerset County Council's service 12. "We apologise for the inconvenience."
