A KNITTER-EXTRAORDINAIRE has come up with a new way to raise funds for a Whitchurch care home – toilet roll covers.

Having given away more than 100 NHS rainbows, knitted from wool donated by the towns people of Whitchurch, Marge Huxley and her friends at Whitchurch Seniors Club are now knitting toilet roll covers.

Selling for £1 each, all the proceeds will be given to Edgeley House Care Home, in Edgeley Road in Whitchurch.

A club spokesman said: "Marge and Alice are seeking yet more donations of wool, to knit a pound for our care home workers.

"To donate wool or buy a woolly toilet roll cover, please call Marge on 01948 664443."

The covers come in all colours, and Marge's NHS rainbows proved to be exceptionally popular.
